The iPad Scheme at St Peter's
IPads at St Peter's
iPads have become an integral part of the school day and have enhanced the learning of the children. They are used daily for a variety of different reasons ranging from carrying out independent research to presenting work in many different ways as well the accessing support materials and activities via our Virtual Learning Environment, the VLE. All of the children gain a good understanding of how to navigate the iPad which means they can effectively use it to support their learning.
We are working with The Birmingham e-Learning Foundation this year, offering an iPad to each of our pupils, paable by monthly direct debit for two years, with the device managed and maintained by the school. There is no obligation for parents who do not wish to take up the offer, or those who may already have a device at home they wish to use.
Typically, we have had a 70% take-up over the last five years. The scheme will only go ahead if there is enough interest and we contact parents to confirm this.
iPads are regularly used by both children and staff at St Peter's. Take a look at our video below to see some of the ways that they are currently being used within the school.
