Shakespeare For Schools Festival: Much Ado About Nothing

The Years 5 and 6 St Peter’s Performers group performed the Shakespearean comedy Much Ado About Nothing at the Gulbenkian Arts Centre in Canterbury this week as part of the Shakespeare for Schools Festival.

It was a wonderful opportunity to perform our production on a professional stage and we had a brilliant time working with the theatre professionals and meeting the other schools taking part! The day began with a visit to the Gulbenkian Arts Centre for our tech and dress rehearsal, where the children worked with a professional backstage team and learned about how lighting and sound effects are added to a show! Our production of Much Ado About Nothing was the final performance of the evening and the audience thoroughly enjoyed it! We were praised by the Shakespeare for Schools Team for our expressive delivery of the Shakespearean language, the excellent characters as well as ensemble acting, and wonderful movement routines to music. We are so proud of our performers, they were so professional, confident and enthusiastic throughout the festival. Well done for your commitment, team work and brilliant creativity!
