Children in Need Fun and Fundraising!
Children at St Peter’s CE Juniors enjoyed a bustling week of fun fundraising for Children in Need.
They were involved with a range of initiatives that to date has seen an impressive £1001 donated for the nationwide charity’s annual appeal.
These included a raffle with a host of prizes to be won, Pudsey Bear goods on sale including ears, wristbands and badges, after school cake sales outside the main entrance, and a collection of coins in a penny pot by the main office.
A Pudsey palaeontology game was very popular with children donating to help the colourful Children in Need mascot find fossils on a map of the UK.
Non uniform day saw children invited to attend school in their pyjamas as part of the fundraising effort.
The week-long event was very special for Sally Reynolds who is part of the school’s extended services team.
She has organised the St Peter’s Children in Need activities for the last ten years and has helped raised many thousands of pounds for the charity – and she wore a different Pudsey-related jumper every day of the week.
Mrs Reynolds said: “It is always heart-warming to see the school community come together for such a meaningful cause."
“The enthusiasm and generosity displayed by everyone involved truly make a difference in the lives of children who need our support.”
Head Teacher Tim Whitehouse agreed: “We have a lot of fun throughout the week, but we always ensure our pupils are aware of the real reason to support the Children In Need charity drive.
Once again, St Peter’s children, families and staff have responded magnificently to help make life a little brighter for those in need."
