Out of the 8 eggs we have been carefully looking after, 6 adorable chicks have successfully hatched.

The chicks are already proving to be very lively and curious. They are incredibly cute, with soft fluffy feathers, and have been happily settling into their new surroundings.

We look forward to keeping everyone updated on their progress over the coming weeks!

Lots of exciting things have happening, including a visit from author, Tola Okogwu, book sales, library visits and a dress up day, with some marvellous costumes.

We hope the children enjoyed celebrating books and stories as much as we did.

The workshop was part of the Coram Shakespeare for Schools Festival and included lots of fun drama games, helpful rehearsal techniques and top tips for the performance day.

Our performers were so creative and professional and took part with great confidence and enthusiasm.

We are really looking forward to the upcoming production of Twelfth Night at the Gulbenkian Arts Centre in Canterbury on Tuesday 10^th March.

Our Basketball squad have been training every Thursday from September and picking a team of 7 from it was hard work. It really was a team effort and each member of the squad played their part.

Two weeks ago we progressed from the 2 qualifying round, competing against 6 other schools to earn our place in the final , with a record of D, W, L, D, W & W. nd Mistakes and decision making were addressed and worked on for the finals where we dominated and won the event with a game to spare. A record of W, W, W, W, D, W & D and only conceding 2 points!

We're so proud of the team. They worked incredibly hard and pushed themselves to their limits for each other and the school.

The play was written by Rob John and includes well-known World War One songs as well as historical information to commemorate the First World War.

The children impressed us all with their musical theatre skills and we thoroughly enjoyed their enthusiastic performance of this thought-provoking show.

Well done to all the children for their creativity and dedication in rehearsals, it was great fun singing the catchy songs, learning the ensemble dance routines and creating the characters together.

Mr Irwin, Emilia G, Jude F & George H settled them in to the hive and we look forward to watching the colony grow.

Well done to Seth N (5BN) who was awarded a ‘Commended’ for his piece.

The girls were extremely confident and once again remained undefeated with 2 wins and 3 draws, the only team to stay undefeated and have an all girls team.

The announcement came that we were champions 2 years in a row with an all girl team both years!

I are so proud of our girls. The 8 who played on Saturday showed brilliant teamwork and determination and to every member of our squad who has played this school year.

On Saturday, members of our Year 6 Rugby squad played in the annual World Cup Festival at Thanet Wanderers and represented South Africa. There was not a trophy to play for this time but the team dominated every match winning them all convincingly.

That draws a close to our rugby season and our amazing team finish with 14 wins, 2 draws, 0 losses and one trophy.

Over the week, all of our children have taken part in exciting dance, drama, music and art activities led by our specialist Arts teachers and young Arts Leaders. Our Arts Leaders have been wonderful role-models and have confidently lead and supported activities throughout the week. It has been a very creative week and we have enjoyed the many workshops, performances and presentations.

Some highlights have included the Years 3 and 4 St Peter’s Performers’ performance of The Tempest, they impressed us all with their professional and expressive acting, confident singing and dance routines. The Dance Squad had great fun teaching their families a section of the Puppet Show choreography. The Years 5 and 6 Accomplished Artists and their families enjoyed a printmaking visual arts workshop together, and the Years 5 and 6 Music Technology Club celebrated and shared their music technology skills with their families.

We also held a Creative Classroom Door Challenge in school, where our children decorated their classroom doors to highlight the theme freedom within a current topic. We shared our creativity as a school community in a walking exhibition around the school to look at all the wonderfully decorated classroom doors. Thank you everyone, it’s been great to celebrate and enjoy the arts together.

A huge congratulations to our St. Peter’s rugby team for an incredible performance at the Thanet Schools Rugby 6 Nations!

They won all 4 group games to qualify for the Winners' Cup, then went on to win 2 and draw 1 in the final stage—securing 1st place out of 20 teams!

An amazing effort from every player—what a fantastic achievement!

We are so incredibly proud of them and they now progress to the Grand Final in Oxford.

It was a nail-biting finish as they went head-to-head with Chilton Primary School, with it all coming down to the final shot!

Our team clinched the win and qualified for the Tier 3 Championship group!

The team, picked from Archery club, performed really well winning 3 of their 4 games and actually finished level on points with winners Chilton. Despite beating Chilton, the event was decided on which school scored the most points on the board overall.

Later that day, it was the Year 5&6 team’s turn! They also finished Runners Up after losing on points difference to Upton.

Yesterday 6 of our year 6 pupils represented the school in a bowling event hosted by Bugsy's Bowling. Although we didn't compete against other schools, our team enjoyed some friendly competition against each other and had lots of fun.

Our Year 4 Football and Year 6 Basketball teams were flawless in their events, winning every game and not conceding at all. Our Netball team finished runners up in the Passport Cup, the Year 6 Football team progressed to their quarter finals and our Dodgeball team enjoyed their Fair play festival yesterday with brilliant performances.

After winning our regional round last week, we beat St Nicholas, Upton and Holy Trinity Ramsgate today only losing one game to St George’s.

This put us top of the group to win the cup and qualify for the county finals in London.

The production was a brilliant experience with every class taking their turn on the stage to present a different part of the play. It was wonderful to see our children showcasing their amazing singing, dancing and acting talents, as well as having so much fun together!

The set, costumes and props looked fantastic and really set the scene in Ancient Rome- we especially loved the prop chickens!

Thank you to everybody that helped bring the production from the page to the stage, and thank you to Dane Court for hosting our show again this year. The children impressed us all with their professional ensemble skills, and performed the show with so much energy and enthusiasm- it was a really special event and such lovely memories for us all to share!

Well done Year 6 for all your hard work and creativity in rehearsals, your confidence really shone in the final performances!

Year 5 children have had a wonderful time writing, directing and producing their own mini films over the past few terms.

The Creative Careers Film Project gave our children an exciting introduction to careers in the film industry as well as first-hand experience of every stage of the film making process.

Every child had the opportunity to choose a job role they were interested in and complete tasks towards making the film, including; script writer, director, costume designer, art director, producer, film actor, camera operator, sound recordist, unit stills photographer and editor. The children led their film making process and were very professional in their roles, working alongside one another in teams in every stage of the film making process.

They have created some very imaginative and entertaining mini films called ‘Modern Day Cinderella,’ ‘Tangled in a Video Game,’ and ‘Mystery Ghost and Me.’  

It was wonderful to have so many Year 5 families join us to celebrate the children’s creativity and collaboration both on and off screen- Well done to all the Year 5 film makers!

The play is part of the National Theatre’s Let’s Play programme and includes well-known fairy tale characters rebelling against their traditional stories and judging each other based on skill and personality, rather than stereotypes.

 St Peter’s eco champions win Green Flag award

They danced with confidence and grace and had the crowd singing and moving along during their hip hop section. 

The girls were extremely professional both on and off the stage. Our dancers were complimented on their stage presence and energy scoring 202 points out of 300. 

Well done to all of the girls, we are very proud of you.  

We would also like to give a big shout out and massive ‘thank you’ to Keith Taylor who drove the Elite team and their parents to and from the competition, THANK YOU VERY MUCH!

We look forward to seeing how these experiences inspire their future learning and exploration in STEM fields.

It was a fantastic opportunity for our students to learn first-hand about the diverse careers that involve science, engineering, technology, and math (STEM).

Our guests included firefighters, midwives, blood scientists, human genetic scientists, Openreach engineers, mechanics, civil engineers, and computer scientists.

This event helped demonstrate the vital role STEM plays in various professions, inspiring our students to explore the many exciting paths these fields offer.

Thank you to all our guests for making this a memorable and educational experience!

Although scores weren't recorded and there were no awards for winning, our team delivered an outstanding performance on the field, winning all of their games in style, meaning we complete the season undefeated in all festivals and tournaments!

Not only that, each member of our Elite Rugby Club has played a role in this success by represented the school and contributing to that achievement.
